IODA senior management felt that the company home page needed a facelift, so I was asked to manage the design and development of the new pages. I worked with the IODA management to determine the message they wanted to communicate with the site, assembled the information architecture, distilled the user experience, then with a consulting graphic designer on the look and feel.
After many iterations and struggles, we struck the right balance between the right message and right look. I then had the designer provide our developers all the cuts and detailed schematics, allowing my team to crank out the redesign in under three weeks — just in time to debut at a major conference.
